New Jewellery (formerly 'The Great Frog') is a name synonomous with unique silver jewellery design in Auckland, New Zealand. Started by Brian and Felicity Lehtonen, and now including their son Ansel and long time friend/jeweller John Walters of Cyborg, Felicity continues her family legacy of supplying high quality, unique and alternative jewellery to NZ.
What started as a little shop in Carnaby Street, London in 1972, founded by Felicity's brother Paterson Riley and Carol Lehtonen (Brian's sister), and going on to include reknowned NZ Jeweller Gavan Riley (Felicity's other brother!), was where a jewellery revolution began!
Boasting an onsite workshop, New Jewellery is one of the few local family run businesses left specialising in the lost art of silversmithing, where it continues to be a favourite haunt of long haired musicians, local and international celebrities and everyone inbetween. We cherish our customers new and old, and strive to offer a friendly and relaxed service in a now impersonal and increasingly commercialised industry.
In addition to our retail store of handmade and locally sourced pieces, come visit our onsite workshop for any custom-made enquiries, jewellery repairs, ring sizing and engravings. We deal in silver, gold, platinum and other precious metals, as well as wooden, costume and plastic jewellery repairs. So if you have something in need of some TLC, chances are we can help!
